Job summary

UNC Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center at Raleigh is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced dermatology practice. You will room patients, collect vital signs, manage med lists, and assist providers during exams and procedures.

You will perform phlebotomy, labs, and basic tests while maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms and accurate EMR documentation. The role offers day shifts, onsite work, and opportunities for career growth within UNC Dermatology.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• MA certification from AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming/intake with vital signs and patient data collection.
• Review medication lists, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; sterilize instruments.
• Assist with check-in/out, scheduling, and referrals.
• Support in emergency situations as directed.
