Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate patient records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to manage an average patient volume of up to 40 patients daily.
• Document patient histories, including HPI, medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies.
• Prepare and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures (biopsies, injections, laser treatments, excisions).
• Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
• Ensure sterile techniques and infection control practices.
• Perform scribing responsibilities and input templates/notes.
• Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
• Log pathology samples and coordinate with laboratories.
• Operate equipment such as Narrowband UVB and PDT units.
• Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.
• Stock exam rooms and supply areas.
• Maintain attendance and support departmental leadership.
