Job summary

The Dermatology Center of Indiana in Zionsville, on the Whitestown border, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support dermatology and medical aesthetics services. The role involves room preparation, vital signs, patient prep for exams, and assisting physicians with procedures.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, lab coordination, referrals, scheduling, and maintaining patient confidentiality. MA licensure or nursing degree required, with dermatology EMR experience highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed medical assistant or nursing degree required.
• Minimum of one year of dermatology office experience.
• Experience with Modernizing Medicine EMA EMR preferred.
• Strong communication and team-collaboration skills.
• Ability to take vitals, injections, charting, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies; prepare procedure trays.
• Escort patient, take vitals, collect visit reason, and prep for physician examination.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as suture removal and minor surgeries.
• Prepare specimens for outside lab and submit results to physician.
• Schedule on-site and off-site tests; track results and document procedures.
• Facilitate referrals by coordinating with other offices and providers.
• Contact labs, pharmacies, and patients regarding test results and prescriptions.
• Handle pre-certifications and referrals; record and track in chart.
• Inventory management and ordering back-office supplies.
• Disinfect exam rooms and lab; maintain reception area and confidentiality.
• Communicate with physician and office manager on issues vital to practice.
