Dermatology, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians across our Indianapolis locations. The role includes EMR data entry, patient escort, and assisting with clinical procedures in a fast-paced dermatology practice.

The successful candidate will document patient histories, manage communications, and coordinate care with a focus on accuracy and patient experience. Strong organization, communication, and teamwork are essential; travel to multiple locations is required.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience is preferred but training will be provided.
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload in a changing environment.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations outside the primary site.

Responsibilities

• Enter visit details into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Assist providers with clinical procedures and surgeries.
• Record and document patient history in charts.
• Answer phone calls, voicemails, and patient inquiries.
• Review medical history and counsel patients on status and need for further evaluation or treatment.
• Explain and document laboratory and pathology results.
• Call in prescription refills.
• Explain procedures and treatments to patients.
• Initiate prior authorizations as needed.
• Schedule appointments and urgent visits.
