Job summary

The Dermatology Center of Indiana, part of Optima Dermatology, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant / LPN to join our dermatology and medical aesthetics group in Greenwood, IN. The position supports exam rooms, patient intake, and physician procedures in a fast-paced dermatology setting.

Ideal candidates have dermatology office experience, an MA/license, and EMA EMR proficiency. This is a full-time role based in Greenwood with opportunities for growth in a multi-site dermatology network.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of prior dermatology medical office experience.
• Licensed Medical Assistant or equivalent nursing degree required.
• Experience with Modernizing Medicine EMA EMR is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and stocks supplies; prepares procedure trays as needed.
• Escorts patients, takes vitals, interviews, documents visit reasons and medications.
• Assists physicians with procedures such as sutures, minor surgeries and removals.
• Packages specimens for outside lab and submits results to physicians.
• Schedules on-site/off-site tests and tracks results and prep instructions.
• Facilitates referrals by contacting offices and coordinating tests.
• Contacts hospitals/pharmacies; coordinates patient care and test results.
• Precertifies medications and referrals; records cert numbers and referrals.
• Manages inventory and orders back-office supplies; ensures cleanliness and safety.
• Maintains confidentiality and communicates issues with physician/office manager.
