Job summary

Schweiger is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant - Mohs for our Purchase Office. The Medical Assistant - Mohs will perform high-quality medical, surgical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a dermatology setting, assisting physicians with Mohs and laser procedures while ensuring smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have healthcare experience, dermatology exposure preferred, and are comfortable with EMR and MS Office.

Qualifications

Dermatology experience preferred.
Healthcare experience required.
Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to patients and providers.
Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations and procedures.
Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider's next steps to the best of your ability.
Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking equipment.
Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA/GM of low supplies.
Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment.
