Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in an outpatient dermatology clinic. You will room patients, record vital signs, prepare procedure trays, and assist with dermatology procedures.

Qualifications

• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Strong patient-care delivery skills.
• Excellent communication with patients and team.
• Willingness to learn dermatology-specific procedures.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake information in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and support efficient clinic operations.
• Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment and assist with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare and route pathology/lab specimens according to insurance requirements.
• Respond to patient questions and clinical task lists as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and inventory of clinical spaces and supplies.
• Document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Handle phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications timely.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
