Job summary

UC San Diego Medical Assistant position supports the dermatology clinic by assisting with patient care, scheduling, and maintaining a clean and safe environment across California. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology and strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, environmental care, equipment and supply management, and adherence to universal precautions. Certification and BLS/BART at hire are required with six months to obtain BART.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years or more of Medical Assistant experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Knowledge of online scheduling, universal precautions, and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Clinical patient flow management and environmental care functions.
• Equipment and supply management and cleaning/disinfecting the environment.
• Performing duties in accordance with California business/professions code and Joint Commission regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with clinic providers and licensed nursing staff.
