Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Georgia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse I (LPN I) to provide direct and indirect nursing care under supervision. Responsibilities include patient preparation, care coordination, and education to promote health and prevent illness.

The LPN I will work within the Health Care Team to ensure high-quality care following organizational guidelines, with emphasis on patient-centered care and efficient workflow in a busy clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Georgia Practical Nurse License required at hire.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• Customer Service Assessment completed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for office visit by reviewing history, collecting relevant clinical information, measuring vital signs, and documenting in the medical record.
• Completes POE and addresses care gaps during the patient encounter.
• Prepares room and equipment for procedure and assists the practitioner as needed.
• Initiates interventions and documents response to treatment according to guidelines.
• Participates in emergency care as directed by practitioner or RN.
• Educates patients and provides preparation materials for diagnostic studies.
• Schedules appointments for lab, radiology, or specialty consultations as ordered.
• Monitors electronic messages related to patient or provider requests and manages within scope of practice.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and engages patients and families in care coordination.
