Job summary

Epiphany Dermatology in Waco, TX is seeking a Lab Technician to join a fast-growing dermatology services team. You will assist the Lab Manager, prepare tissue samples, label slides, and support grossing and send-outs while maintaining CLIA records and safety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma and familiarity with Microsoft Office and EHR systems. Prior anatomic pathology lab experience is preferred but not required; on-site attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior anatomic pathology laboratory preferred, but not required.
• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology with relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, organizing, and preparing patient tissue samples for macroscopic evaluation.
• Enter information into the EMR as provided by the Grossing Technician.
• Labeling slides and preparing packaging for microscopic evaluation and send-outs.
• Assisting with lab send-outs (slide and block requests).
• Maintaining CLIA records and documentation.
• Completing compliance paperwork including temperature/humidity logs and reagent logs.
• Adhering to safety protocols.
• Providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Disposing of blood/biohazard materials and infectious waste per guidelines.
• Monitoring expiration dates and assisting with supplies.
• Participating in staff meetings for practice improvements and solutions.
