Job summary

Epiphany Dermatology is expanding its clinical labs in Waco, TX, offering a full-time Lab Technician role. You will support the Lab Manager and help ensure smooth operations, handling tissue sample processing for both grossing and dermatopathology, labeling slides, and coordinating with send-outs while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

We value detail-oriented team players with strong organizational skills, familiarity with EHR systems, and reliable on-site attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred but not required: Associate degree in lab science or medical lab technology.
• Experience in anatomic pathology lab is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, and prepare tissue samples for macroscopic evaluation.
• Enter information into EMR as needed by Grossing Technician.
• Label slides and organize packaging for microscopic evaluation.
• Assist with lab send-outs for slides and blocks.
• Maintain CLIA records and documentation.
• Complete and maintain compliance paperwork (temperature, logs, QA).
• Ensure proper disposal of biohazards and sharps.
• Monitor expirations and assist with supply adjustments.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to process improvements.
