Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a histology technician for a fast-paced dermatology surgery lab in Winston-Salem, NC. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, 1st shift, with no weekends or on-call requirements.

The position requires an Associate degree or ASCP training, with HT certification preferred and experience in a clinical histology lab. Competitive benefits are offered by Advocate Health.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in applied science or high school diploma with two years training as defined by ASCP/NSH.
• Three years' experience in a clinical histology lab preferred.
• HT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes cooperative work environment.
• Accessioning, labeling and billing of specimens accurately and timely.
• Processing and staining of specimens per department practices.
• Provides maximum care in identification procedures for patient specimens.
• Performs special stains and other Anatomic Pathology lab procedures.
• Maintains professionalism and supports department operations.
