Derivative Technical Accounting Analyst (Finance)

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring derivative accounting transactions are properly documented, accounted for, and reported, under the supervision of the Manager of Derivatives & Technical Accounting. Responsibilities include preparing derivative-related journal entries, performing internal control procedures such as reconciliations, preparing monthly estimates and earnings analysis, and supporting internal and external reporting functions. The position requires collaboration with various departments such as Risk & Pricing, Supply & Marketing, and Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of commodity derivatives and applicable accounting principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Active CPA certification preferred
Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily derivative accounting processes, prepare journal entries, and conduct month-end closing activities, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure accurate transaction recording and compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Generate reports and analyses for routine and special reporting needs, including estimates, earnings, and disclosures for quarterly and annual financial statements.
  3. Assist in developing and implementing derivative accounting policies and procedures, ensuring organizational compliance.
  4. Perform additional duties as assigned.
