Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a DER Interconnection Intern to assist engineers evaluating DER interconnection applications for solar, storage, and hybrid systems. The role is based mainly in St Paul and Denver, with enterprise-wide responsibilities and a hybrid in-person/remote capability.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in ABET-accredited Electrical or Mechanical Engineering programs, able to work full-time in summer or part-time during school, and comfortable with data tracking, drafting stakeholder

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student; junior or higher.
• ABET-accredited program in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
• Able to work full-time during the summer or part-time during the school year and commute per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data requests and review applications.
• Track applications and support documentation.
• Draft stakeholder materials and tariff documents.
• Support queue management and process updates.
