The Town of Hanover seeks an experienced Deputy Town Manager to provide executive oversight across departments, support the Town Manager, and advance community priorities. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, financial planning, and collaboration with Dartmouth College and regional partners.

Responsibilities include guiding cross-department projects, budgeting, policy implementation, and mentoring department heads.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, finance, management, or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government or similar.
• Significant management or supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Town Manager with day-to-day administration and oversight of Town government.
• Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and performance management to department directors.
• Coordinate activities across Town departments to improve operations, communication, and service delivery.
• Assist with implementation of Selectboard policies, objectives, and annual priorities.
• Prepare recommendations, reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
• Attend Selectboard meetings and other public meetings as assigned.
• Represent the Town Manager before boards, committees, and partner organizations.
• Participate in preparation and administration of annual operating and capital budgets.
• Review departmental requests, staffing, capital needs, contracts, and major expenditures.
• Lead major projects assigned by the Town Manager with defined scopes and budgets.
• Develop relationships with Dartmouth College, neighboring municipalities, and state agencies.
