Job summary

The Florida Legislature seeks a qualified professional to assist the staff director in directing the work of the committee by setting priorities, guiding research, and approving final reports and legislation. This on-site role supports the Committee on Ethics and Elections with oversight of legislative actions.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in administrative, research, or policy analysis roles related to state government.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of professional administrative or policy experience.
• Master’s or Doctorate substitutions apply as described in the posting.
• Experience in legislative, research, policy analysis, or program planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff director in directing committee staff work and set priorities.
• Oversee preparation of research projects and major committee documents.
• Coordinate with agencies and organizations on issues needing legislative attention.
• Prepare reports, budgets, and policy documents and supervise staff.
