Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking an experienced Software Solutions Architect to shape a satellite ground systems solution. You will interface with the SW Architect and Chief Engineer to develop a feature/epic roadmap, and work with the customer to translate requirements into actionable development drivers.

The role involves coordinating with project teams across engineering, testing, deployment, and operations in an agile environment to ensure milestones and budgets are met.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering/development experience.
• Experience coordinating requirements with the customer and defining solutions.
• Experience leading software development teams using Agile methodologies.
• Experience implementing Feature/Epic roadmaps with Jira Plans or similar tooling.
• Experience supporting requirement traceability and verification activities.
• Familiarity with cloud-based (AWS) and Kubernetes-enabled applications.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (Git, Atlassian tools, Nexus).
• Experience with Java programming, including network, multi-threaded, client-server.

We are seeking an experienced Software Solutions Architect to help shape the development of a critical satellite ground systems solution. The successful candidate will be tasked with three major roles: (1) Interface directly with the program’s SW Architect and Chief Engineer to develop and maintain a Feature/Epic Roadmap; (2) Interface directly with the customer to understand project requirements and help architect SW solutions; and (3) Support the translation of SW requirements into internal product and project development drivers, as well as help coordinate those development updates with project and product development teams. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the program meets project needs in an agile software development environment by working closely with project development, system engineering, test, deployment, and operations personnel.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Articulate technical concepts to the customer, users, and the development team
• Support developing and maturing the project architecture, to include decomposition into more detailed software design components/subcomponents
• Support verification and troubleshooting of the technical solutions provided by the development staff
• Support refinement of the progression of tasks to ensure on-time & on-budget completion per the Feature Roadmap and program milestones
• Support guiding the agile development lifecycle from a customer perspective, including backlog refinement, system demos, retrospectives, and coordinating customer feedback during Program Increments

Experience And Skills

• 10+ years software engineering/development experience
• Experience in coordinating requirements with the customer and then defining/architecting a solution to satisfy them
• Experience leading software development teams using Agile methodologies
• Experience leading implementation of Feature/Epic roadmaps through use of Jira Plans (aka Jira Advanced Roadmaps) or similar tooling
• Experience supporting requirement traceability and verification activities
• Familiarity with cloud-based (e.g., AWS) and Kubernetes-enabled applications
• Self-motivated and comfortable with working with multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers
• Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian tools, Nexus, CM Pro, etc.)
• Experience with Java programming, including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Familiarity with automated test scripting and tools (e.g, Bamboo, Behave)
• Experience with C/C++ programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming)
• Experience in satellite ground systems, specifically with real-time command and control (C2), ground communications, and antenna systems
• Experience with SATCOM mission planning

Experience with SecDevOps processes and tools (e.g., Sonarqube, Splunk, Syft, etc.)

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education

Salary Range: $170,000-$185,000
