Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have completed a Texas Basic Peace Officer course and be licensable by TCOLE at the time of hire.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and/or obtain a license within 30 days.
• Willingness to work nights, evenings, overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned county area and maintains awareness of crime prevention.
• Responds day or night to major offense locations for on-scene investigations; interviews suspects and witnesses.
• Photograph major incidents, collect and submit evidence, and prepare sworn affidavits as needed.
• Assist with case preparation and processing of evidence; file charges with the District Attorney.
• Provide courthouse security and act as court bailiff; testify in court.
