Job summary

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform patrol duties, respond to calls, conduct investigations, and support emergency management. Candidates must have a HS diploma/GED and a valid Texas peace officer license or be eligible to sit the licensing exam within 45 days.

The role supports various divisions (K9 Patrol, Livestock Unit, Youth Programs, Community services) and requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public and officials.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts search and rescue operations.
• Performs routine police patrol.
• Issues citations and/or warnings; arrests; testifies in court as needed.
• Maintains reports and weapon/equipment.
• Initial crime scene investigations and emergency management duties.
• Answers citizen calls for police assistance.
