Job summary

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is seeking certified law enforcement officers to join a team dedicated to protecting the community. After field training, deputies are assigned to one of three 8.25 hour shifts in the Patrol Division on a rotating schedule, providing 24/7 service with diverse collateral duties including substation assignments and specialized teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 60 college credits, an associate degree, or two years of full-time law enforcement experience with LESB certification.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old by first day of employment; veterans' preference eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate crimes and civil complaints.
  • Enforce traffic laws, state statutes, and county ordinances.
  • Write and compile reports.
  • Testify in court as needed.
  • Transport prisoners to and from holding facilities, court, and other institutions.
  • Restrain aggressive persons and apply handcuffs and other restraints as required.

Education

High school diploma with 60 college credits / associates degree or 2 years law enforcement experience
