Job summary

Ramos CS, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks a Deputy Resident Engineer for Track/Civil to support a light rail extension program. You will oversee trackwork, civil scopes, and contract administration on-site in Seattle, coordinating with design consultants and inspectors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in construction management on rail or heavy civil projects, PE license preferred, and experience with payments, change orders, and

Qualifications

• Must-have field experience in construction management or inspection on rail or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of safety requirements and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the Resident Engineer's deputy for contract administration.
• Directs Track and Civil Construction Engineers and inspection staff.
• Ensures safety of employees and the traveling public by observing operations and taking corrective action when needed.
• Reviews contractor operations for OSHA compliance and safety requirements.
• Performs field inspections to verify conformance with plans and permits.
• Coordinates RFIs, submittals, and field clarifications for track and civil scopes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Washington PE preferred

PMP or DBIA certification a plus
