Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Have you always wanted to be that project manager who tackles challenging projects, including limited access and design-build? DRMP is seeking a motivated Deputy Project Manager to help grow our Transportation Market Sector based in our Boca Raton, Orlando, Jacksonville, and/or Tampa offices.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate knowledgeable in transportation design (roadway, drainage, traffic, or structures) who is willing to learn project management tasks, including assisting the project manager with team coordination, attending client meetings, scheduling, invoicing, and implementing project management best practices. The candidate should also be willing to market, control, and develop projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, counties, cities, and other transportation agencies.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  1. Overall project management assistance for complex roadway capacity projects on limited access facilities in Florida.
  2. Conduct engineering investigations and plan work by completing well-defined tasks, including data collection and analysis; perform routine calculations and evaluate the feasibility of alternative solutions.
  3. Prepare or oversee the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
  4. Calculate costs and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
  5. Prepare and update schedules to advance the project.
  6. Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
  7. Collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, technical staff, and managers across disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budget.
  8. Direct and mentor support staff.
What you'll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Registration with 7 - 15+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented team player capable of contributing positively to the work environment.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Experience designing capacity projects for FDOT and/or tolling authorities such as Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, THEA, CFX, etc.
  • Management skills including budgeting, scheduling, job tracking, client interaction, and staff management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with clients, professionals, and team members.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
