Position: Senior Project Manager / Roadway Engineer

Location: Tampa, Florida

Minimum Experience: 10 years

Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE)

Registration: Professional Engineer (PE)

Our Client

Our client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join their Tampa, FL office as a Senior Roadway Project Manager. This role involves leading and coordinating transportation engineering projects in collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies. Projects include roadway design, complete streets initiatives, bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure, resurfacing, widening, interchange efforts across FDOT Districts 1, 2, 5, and 7, safety studies, design contracts, peer reviews, and local agency initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic business development within Florida transportation markets, building strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Provide senior leadership and collaborate with transportation leaders across Florida operations.
• Lead pursuits, project presentations, and manage engagements with FDOT districts and municipal agencies.
• Recruit and develop engineering talent in Florida, especially in Tampa.
• Oversee transportation project delivery for FDOT and municipal clients.
• Ensure project delivery excellence and a superior client experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in municipal project management and client development.
• Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, performance, and risks.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong project and client management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
