Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Deputy Program Manager to lead FDA-focused scientific computing operations, coordinating HPC, storage, and cloud services. You’ll oversee performance reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communications, ensuring researchers have reliable access to computing resources and applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Scientific Computing, or related field.
• 10-12+ years of experience in scientific computing, HPC operations, or complex technical environments.
• Strong experience coordinating operations across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC).
• Experience with performance reporting, incident/problem management, dashboards, and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day scientific computing operations across HPC, storage, cloud services, and applications.
• Track availability, performance, capacity, incident trends, and operational risks; produce dashboards and reports.
• Ensure FDA stakeholders receive responsive, mission‑aligned support across Tier 2 and Tier 3 services.
• Identify recurring issues and work with leads to remove blockers.
• Integrate activities across infrastructure engineering, HPC, cloud, cybersecurity, AI/ML environments.
• Support readiness for new scientific applications, datasets, instruments, and workloads.
• Maintain documentation and quality standards required by FDA.
• Contribute to program planning, scheduling, risk tracking, and stakeholder communications.
