Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Maryland seeks a Deputy Program Manager to support an FDA Scientific Computing contract, based in College Park or Gaithersburg.

You will coordinate day-to-day operations across HPC, storage, cloud, and AI/ML environments, align with FDA stakeholders, and deliver mission-critical computing services.

This hybrid role requires a US citizenship or GC, ability to obtain a Public Trust, and 10+ years in scientific computing or related fields.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
• Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Scientific Computing, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years in scientific computing, HPC operations, or complex technical environments.
• Technical Skills: experience coordinating operations across multidisciplinary teams; HPC experience; reporting and dashboards; communication with scientists and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day scientific computing operations across HPC, storage, cloud services, AI/ML environments.
• Track availability, performance, capacity, incidents, and risks; produce dashboards and reports.
• Ensure FDA users receive responsive, mission-aligned support across Tier 2/3 services.
• Identify recurring issues and work with leads to remove blockers; integrate activities across teams.
• Support readiness for new applications, datasets, instruments, and computational workloads.
