Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems seeks a Deputy Program Manager of Operations to lead cross-functional manufacturing teams within the Airborne Systems unit, driving program execution across cost, schedule, quality, and delivery objectives.

The role requires managing budgets and schedules, applying earned value practices, and collaborating across functions to support complex defense programs. DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 5 years, or Master's degree plus 3 years.
• Clearance: ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with manufacturing operations, process development and control.
• Experience with overseeing project performance, cost, scope, and schedule.
• Ability to generate, analyze, and monitor budgets and schedules.

Clearance Requirements

Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Role And Position Objectives

As a Deputy Program Manager of Operations (DPMO), you will lead cross-functional teams within manufacturing in support of our Airborne Systems business unit. In this role you will be responsible for the overall manufacturing execution of the programs that you support, including all cost, schedule, quality, and delivery objectives.

• Experience with new product introduction manufacturing, and transitioning new programs from development to production
• Ability to assess risk and scope changes that may impact program cost and schedule

• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
• Experience in implementing new processes, documentation, and quality/process controls
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; detail oriented
