Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS in Arlington, VA, is hiring a Deputy Program Manager to organize and oversee a complex DoD IT and cybersecurity services program, acting as the alternate to the Program Manager. Based from Crystal City, you will coordinate with customers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will lead workload planning, manage scope, milestones, and reporting, and maintain program documentation and CDRLs.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
• Active Secret clearance or Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Management or Business preferred.
• At least six years of management experience in administration, acquisition, and program management.
• Experience with DoW IT Program Management in a multi-level classification environment.
• Knowledge of Federal DoW and Navy acquisition practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing executive leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Jira/Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
• Availability during core hours 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily tasks, projects, and program-level operations per contract requirements.
• Manage scope, milestones, and deliverables within schedule and budget.
• Lead personnel in executing program activities with staffing, planning, and financial oversight.
• Lead customer-facing status meetings and working groups; track decisions and actions.
• Monitor program performance using plans and metrics; communicate outcomes.
• Manage program documents, CDRLs, SOPs, action tracking, and reporting requirements.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and status updates for stakeholders.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure training/compliance.
• Support BD and proposals across the directorate.
