Job summary

AAR Corp in Alabama seeks a Deputy Program Director to support the Program Director in executing a DoD aviation contract, oversee daily operations, and ensure mission objectives are met.

You will liaise with Government reps, CORs, and subcontractors, marshal resources, and maintain contract compliance. Requires 15+ years in aviation ops and a Bachelor's, with Master preferred.

Fort Rucker access may be required; travel as needed; security clearances may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience supporting aviation operations, aviation maintenance, and aviation flight training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, resources, schedules, and operational performance in a complex aviation environment.
  • Experience working directly with Government customers, CORs, and Army Aviation stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Army Aviation operations, aviation maintenance, training environments, and readiness requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and Fort Rucker access; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to travel as required to support customer engagements and program execution.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • FAA A&P certificate and IA preferred.
  • Experience managing large DoD aviation programs with cost, schedule, and performance responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Director in overall contract execution and performance.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure contractual requirements and mission objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as an alternate point of contact for Government representatives and CORs.
  • Coordinate staffing, resources, facilities, and mission execution with managers.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support development and execution of strategic plans and procedures.
  • Ensure timely completion of contract deliverables, reports, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal departments for compliant execution.
  • Support labor utilization, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Identify operational risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present program status updates and performance reports.
  • Promote safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support customer engagement and promptly address concerns.
  • All other duties as assigned.
