Job summary

AAR in Fort Rucker, Alabama seeks a Chief Inspector to ensure regulatory compliance and airworthiness across maintenance activities. You will apply expert judgment, direct inspection standards, and verify that all work meets FAA, OEM, company, and FSN requirements.

Responsibilities include regulatory oversight, airworthiness determinations, program management, quality assurance leadership, documentation control, audits, and cross‑functional coordination to uphold safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Regulatory knowledge of FAA and related requirements.
  • Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance and quality control.
  • Ability to lead quality management initiatives and cross‑functional teams.
  • US citizenship requirement to access Fort Rucker.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight — Ensuring maintenance, inspections, and documentation comply with FAA regulations, FSN requirements, company procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Airworthiness Determination — Signing off aircraft, components, and maintenance packages as airworthy, including final review of work orders, logbook entries, and inspection records.
  • Inspection Program Management — Developing, maintaining, and enforcing inspection standards, including scheduled inspections and return‑to‑service procedures.
  • Quality Assurance Leadership — Monitoring maintenance activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and initiating corrective actions.
  • Technical Guidance — Providing interpretation of regulations and technical data to maintenance teams.
  • Documentation Control — Managing technical records and regulatory retention requirements.
  • Audit & Surveillance — Conducting internal and vendor audits to verify compliance and identify risks.
  • Coordination Between Maintenance & Quality — Bridging communication between technicians, supervisors, and quality personnel.
  • Training & Competency — Ensuring inspectors are trained and current on regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Non‑Conformance Management — Investigating discrepancies and ensuring proper resolution.
  • Tooling & Equipment Verification — Ensuring inspection tools are calibrated and compliant.
  • Safety & Risk Management — Identifying hazards and enforcing safety protocols.
