Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Deputy Project Manager in the Fort Meade area as a training position to learn supervising and directing project staff, preparing strategic plans and budgets, and developing comprehensive project plans while analyzing data.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with 5+ years in construction or electrical contracting, and a background with CPM scheduling, contract drawings, and change orders. Must meet security eligibility including Top-Secret clearance with SCI.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or Industry related degree) with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience working for electrical or construction contractor.
• Experience on projects from $500k to $10M.
• Experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section.
• Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution.
• Price, track and manage change orders.
• Plan and monitor cash flow against expenses.
• Maintain as-builts and document project issues/conditions.
• Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
• Develop goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish work.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Prepare estimates for partially designed projects and complete project estimates.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters.
