FPIN is seeking a high-capacity early- to mid-career professional to join our team as a Membership Manager (Developmental Role)

This is a structured training role designed to prepare someone to take full ownership of FPIN’s membership over time. During the first year, you will work closely with both the Membership Manager and Writing Project Manager to learn FPIN from the inside out. You will gain experience in member support, organizational processes, and writing project workflows while building the foundation needed to confidently guide and support residency programs. This dual exposure is intentional. Understanding how FPIN’s writing projects function is essential to effectively supporting and retaining member programs. As your experience grows, you will transition into a more independent role with increasing ownership of member relationships, program success, and membership strategy.

Membership Responsibilities (Primary Focus, Increasing Over Time)
  • Partner closely with the Membership Manager to support FPIN member programs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, program directors, and educators
  • Conduct check-ins, identify barriers, and help programs stay engaged and successful
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of member programs
  • Gradually take on ownership of program relationships and communication
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen member experience and participation
Publishing & Writing Project Support (Training Phase)
  • Work alongside the Writing Project Manager to learn FPIN’s editorial workflows
  • Support manuscript tracking and communication through Editorial Manager
  • Develop a working understanding of timelines, expectations, and common challenges
  • Build the knowledge needed to confidently guide members through writing projects

Note: This role does not involve writing or editing manuscripts. The focus is on workflow coordination and program support.

Conference & External Engagement
  • Represent FPIN at national conferences (e.g., STFM, RLS, FUTURE, QI & PI, WONCA, NAPCRG)
  • Travel to residency programs for workshops
  • Support presentations, meetings, and outreach efforts
Operational & Team Support
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives
  • Assist with internal systems, reporting, and communication workflows
  • Support a collaborative, high-accountability team environment

  • Hybrid schedule: in-office Tuesday–Thursday in Columbia, MO; remote Monday and Friday
  • Travel required approximately 10 days per year
Within the first year, this individual will:
  • Develop a strong understanding of FPIN’s writing projects and membership model
  • Support both membership and writing project functions
  • Begin building relationships with member programs
  • Take on increasing ownership of membership responsibilities
Over time, this role is expected to grow into:
  • Independent management of member relationships
  • Ownership of membership workflows and communication
  • Contribution to membership strategy and engagement initiatives
