Job summary

Santa Fe County NM is seeking a sworn Law Enforcement Officer to perform a full range of police duties across county patrol areas, respond to emergencies and enforce traffic safety. The role requires maintaining certifications and adherence to department policies.

The position involves field interviews, investigations, court appearances, and providing public safety services including security for courts and extraditions as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Two to four years of experience as a certified Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent preferred.
• Current certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in the United States required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol county areas and respond to calls, enforce traffic safety, deter crime.
• Conduct field interviews, arrests, investigations and trainings as needed.
• Assist investigators at major crime scenes and provide emergency assistance to the public.
• Appear in court to testify and handle civil/criminal paperwork.
• Maintain safety and ethical conduct, and prepare timely paperwork.
