Job summary

American Credit Acceptance, LLC is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to lead legal strategy and risk management from our Spartanburg headquarters. This onsite role reports to the General Counsel and collaborates with senior leadership.

The successful candidate will provide strategic legal counsel on product initiatives, consumer finance regulatory issues, and governance, with relocation to Spartanburg, SC required by start date.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in South Carolina or another jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of relevant law firm or in‑house corporate law experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing a team of lawyers and paraprofessionals.

Responsibilities

• Advise Senior Executive team and Board on legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Oversee day‑to‑day activity of the Legal Department.
• Guide Compliance on regulatory examinations and licensing matters.
• Coordinate with internal partners and outside counsel on strategic initiatives.
