Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• One-year prior work in the Illinois General Assembly strongly preferred.
• Accounting background preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Word/Outlook/Excel; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Fiscal Officer in supervising fiscal office staff and daily workflow.
• Supporting the preparation, monitoring, and reconciliation of office budgets and appropriations.
• Maintaining all records and files in an orderly fashion for quick access.
• Reviewing invoices and vouchers for SAMS compliance.
• Facilitating DocuSign workflows.
• Preparing and entering payroll for the Clerk's Office.
• Balancing monthly appropriation reports with the Comptroller.
• Reviewing contracts to ensure proper filing.
• Working with auditors to prepare files for audits.
• Participating in payroll, insurance, and benefits training sessions.
• Preparing correspondence, reports, and fiscal summaries as requested.
