City of Cheyenne's Planning and Development Department seeks a Planning and Development Deputy Director to lead policy, financial, and long-range planning initiatives in support of the Director.

The role serves as primary staff for the Urban Renewal Authority, coordinates tax increment financing, drafts development agreements, and oversees long-range planning updates and public outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration, finance, architecture, community development, or a closely related field.
• Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, development, or municipal finance, including drafting development agreements or administering TIF.
• A Master’s degree and a relevant certification (AICP) is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead staff for urban renewal and tax increment initiatives.
• Coordinate with City Treasurer’s Office and assessors for TIF revenues.
• Draft and negotiate complex development agreements.
• Prepare annual reports and coordinate public input tools.
• Represent the department at meetings and before boards.
