MDH Med Care Prgms - Office of Eligibility Svcs seeks a Deputy Director to lead statewide Medicaid eligibility determinations, policy operations, and program integrity. This hybrid role oversees three sub-directorates and requires strategic planning, policy development, and strong cross-functional leadership.

The incumbent reports to the Director, directs staff at multiple levels, and ensures compliance with federal and state requirements while managing resources and improving eligibility

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree and 6 years in health/human services admin with 3+ years supervisory.
• At least 3 years of executive-level management in a layered, matrixed org.
• Experience in Medicaid eligibility programs including policy, operations, or compliance.

The Deputy Director of the Office of Eligibility Services serves as the sole deputy overseeing three sub-directorates within Maryland Department of Health: Eligibility Determination, Eligibility Policy Operations, and Systems Reconciliation. The role plans, directs, and evaluates statewide operations for Medicaid eligibility determinations, policy, training, and program integrity, reporting directly to the Director and supervising multiple Assistant Directors and staff. This hybrid position works to ensure all operations align with federal and state requirements while managing personnel and financial resources across the office.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience, including three years at supervisory or managerial level
• At least three years of executive-level management experience overseeing a layered, matrixed organizational structure with subordinate managers and supervisors
• Professional experience in administration, management, or oversight of Medicaid eligibility programs including policy development, eligibility determination operations, or regulatory compliance
