Job summary

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC, is seeking a Deputy Director of Development who will serve as the number two in the Development Department. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience managing and mentoring early career staff.
• Proven track record of front-line donor prospecting.
• Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
• Experience with fundraising processes and systems.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a nonprofit setting.
• Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce).
• Brand-strength in charity/business development.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Open-minded, culturally sensitive, impartial.

Responsibilities

• Support the CDO's vision and act as internal liaison.
• Lead revenue mobilization strategy and donor engagement.
• Oversee allocations, research, gift processing, stewardship.
• Oversee development training and staff coaching.
• Ensure consistency and quality of development systems and workflows.
• Manage Salesforce operations and related tools.
• Supervise development staff and budget.
• Coordinate with programs, finance, and leadership.
