Job summary

City of South Fulton seeks a Deputy Director of Community Development and Regulatory Affairs to provide strategic, operational, and admin leadership for development review, regulatory, and customer service functions. This executive role reports to the Director and advances growth, neighborhood revitalization, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or closely related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning, development services, permitting, inspections, code enforcement, building safety, or community development, including at least five (5) years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
• Master's degree or professional certifications (preferred) and experience in a rapidly growing municipality are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Directs executive leadership for the Department of Community Development and Regulatory Affairs.
• Oversees Development Services, Planning and Zoning, Building and Permitting, Inspections, Business Licensing, Code Enforcement, and customer service operations.
• Develops departmental goals, policies, procedures, and performance measures to improve efficiency, compliance, and service.
• Leads change initiatives focused on improvement, innovation, technology, and public service delivery.
• Represents the Department before City Council, Planning Commission, and other bodies.
