Job summary

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston in Lynn, MA seeks a Deputy Director to oversee center-based childcare programs and family child care systems. You will work with the Divisional Director to ensure fiscal soundness, program adherence to EEC policies, and overall management of the childcare division.

The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and ability to represent the agency on local and state issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s preferred.
• Eight years of experience working with children in a childcare program.
• Four years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of EEC guidelines: QRIS, UPK, NAEYC Accreditation, CACFP.
• Willingness to work with a diverse population.
• Strong observation, communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for local travel.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interviewing, hiring and onboarding for childcare employees.
• Ensure programs adhere to EEC and Catholic Charities policies.
• Conduct ongoing program evaluations for enrollment, contract utilization and compliance.
• Develop community connections via councils, boards, schools and events.
• Lead staff development, training and coaching for the division.
• Assist program directors with employee relations as needed.
• Support budget planning and termination decisions as needed.
• Travel to building locations and liaise with marketing for program promotion.
