Job summary

The New York City Police Department seeks an experienced Administrative Psychologist to join the Behavioral Care and Support Section as Deputy Director. The role involves managing fitness-for-duty evaluations for police officers and civilian staff, supervising a multidisciplinary team, and providing expert testimony when needed.

Qualified candidates will hold a psychology doctorate and NY license (or medical license with Psychiatry board certification) and have significant supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Doctorate in psychology from an accredited college and five years of full-time professional psychological experience.
• Valid license as Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education or medical license with Board Certification in Psychiatry and related experience.
• Eighteen months of administrative/managerial/supervisory experience within psychology/psychiatry settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fitness-for-duty evaluations for NYPD officers and civilian members.
• Supervise psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, and externs.
• Provide training and supervision for fitness-for-duty evaluations and mental health assessments.
