Job summary

Colorado Department of Labor and Employment seeks a Deputy Controller to anchor operational financials and ensure integrity across the organization. You will supervise Central Accounting Operations, oversee CORE/system interfaces, and drive compliance with GAAP, GASB, and federal/state rules.

The role partners with management, auditors, and program stakeholders to deliver timely financial reporting, improve processes, and train staff on accounting practices.

Qualifications

• Eight years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
• Experience with federal grants and/or contracts in auditing or accounting.
• Current CPA license preferred and counts toward requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead central accounting operations and ensure GAAP/GASB compliance.
• Oversee budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting for CDLE.
• Coordinate with auditors and respond to fiscal inquiries.
