Job summary

Collin County invites applications for Deputy Constable. This role enforces laws, serves warrants/civil papers, and participates in arrests as needed. It includes field and in-office duties, with after-hours on-call responsibilities.

Candidates must meet education and experience requirements, hold a Texas peace officer license, have a valid Texas driver’s license, and pass background checks and fitness tests.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time law enforcement service as a sworn Police Officer.
• Active current TCOLE peace officer license.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and work shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve criminal warrants and civil papers; make arrests as needed.
• Perform investigations and searches when location is unknown.
• Serve evictions and writs and maintain peace during removals.
• Enforce traffic laws on county roads; issue citations as needed.
• Verify information on documents and handle in-office duties.
• Prepare and return legal documents; route information to county locations.
• Execute Mental Health warrants/commitments when required.
• Provide court testimony and write reports.
• Be available after hours for county/regional emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
