Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Deputy Constable to assist the Constable and, in his or her absence, assume full responsibility. The Deputy Constable possesses the powers and duties allowed by law.

This appointment requires AZPOST certification, a High School diploma or GED, a valid Arizona driver’s license, and successful background/fingerprint checks. Qualifications

• This position requires a High School diploma or GED.
• The Deputy Constable must be an AZPOST-certified law enforcement officer (AZPOST).
• Prior police experience and skill in dealing with difficult and/or violent situations.

Responsibilities

• Serves civil processes such as subpoenas, summons, orders of protection, and writs of restitution.
• May seize property to satisfy judgments or make civil arrests as ordered by the court.
• Prepare reports, including criminal supplemental and incident reports.
• Interact with Constable and Court staff daily.
• Attend the Court of the Justice of the Peace to maintain order.
