BALTIMORE CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT is seeking a Deputy Commissioner to lead the Division of Public Behavioral Health. The role oversees data surveillance, prevention and harm reduction, and youth trauma services while reporting to the COO.

The position requires strong public health and behavioral health expertise, collaboration, and policy input to improve outcomes citywide. The ideal candidate will have substantial leadership experience in public health, a Maryland license, and board

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD with active Maryland license is required.
• Board certification in psychiatry, addiction medicine, or related field required.
• Experience in harm reduction and public health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership across the Division's programs.
• Develop evidence-based protocols and support clinicians.
• Collaborate with hospitals, community partners to expand access to treatment.
• Lead program design, evaluation, and partnerships.
