Job summary

GovHRUSA on behalf of the City of Cleveland seeks a Deputy Commissioner of Administration for Cleveland Public Power. The role leads governance, portfolio reviews, and capital project administration, while overseeing business development, facilities, and related support functions.

The candidate will also direct training and workforce development, partner with Human Resources on recruitment and labor relations, and lead public affairs, communications, and marketing with a team of about 15.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field.
• Ideally a Master’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, or related field.
• Four to seven years of progressive experience, including at least three years in supervisory/ management roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project governance, portfolio reviews, and capital project administration.
• Direct oversight of business development, lighting administration, facilities, and related support functions.
• Manage training and workforce development programs and partner with Human Resources on recruitment, labor relations, and performance management.
• Lead public affairs, communications, and marketing; supervise a staff of about 15.
