Job summary

Deepwatch is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Security Officer to lead the Information Security organization. You will run day-to-day operations, mentor teams across security, IT, and risk, and drive a mature, metrics-driven security program aligned with business goals.

You'll partner with Legal, Privacy, Finance, and Engineering to manage audits, risk, and compliance while communicating complex security topics to executives and customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity/IT leadership experience.
• 5+ years of people leadership in security teams.
• Proven ability to run a security department with minimal supervision.
• Strong hands-on understanding of security, IT, cloud, compliance, privacy, and risk models.
• Experience rebuilding or maturing security programs with governance, metrics, and reporting.
• Experience managing audits, evidence collection, remediation, and executive reporting.
• Strong project and program execution with clear ownership and blockers.
• Ability to communicate complex security topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, dashboards, QBRs, and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day operating cadence of the department, including team meetings and executive updates.
• Lead, mentor, and develop security, IT, cloud, compliance, and risk team members.
• Build a high-performing, accountable security culture focused on execution.
• Represent the security organization with executives, customers, auditors, legal, privacy, engineering, and product stakeholders.
• Oversee incident response, risk assessments, and audit readiness.
