Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs West Palm Beach Healthcare System seeks a Supervisory Healthcare Engineer (Deputy), Assistant Chief Engineer to lead and supervise complex engineering programs across multiple disciplines. The role covers the main medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics, guiding capital planning, energy management, and safety initiatives.

You will mentor staff, oversee recruitment and performance, and ensure compliance with VA, NFPA, OSHA, and Joint Commission

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture.
Professional licensure (PE or Architect) or FE exam preferred.
Experience managing engineering programs in healthcare facilities.
Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, JCAHO/Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee professional engineering programs across multiple disciplines.
Advise Chief Engineer and manage capital and energy programs.
Lead safety, life safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Manage budgeting, staffing, and HR processes within Engineering Service.
Provide technical guidance for construction, renovations, and project management.
Mentor engineers and review plans, specifications, and analyses.
