Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a Deputy Chief Economist for the Research Department. The role leads a team of researchers, shapes the department's research agenda, and ensures policy-relevant analysis across Latin America and the Caribbean.

You will advise senior management, coordinate research outputs, and oversee RES operations to maximize development impact. Qualifications include a PhD in Economics and a proven track record in macroeconomics, development policy, and people

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics or related field is required.
• Strong background in macroeconomics and/or economic development with a proven track record.
• Proven managerial skills with experience leading diverse, multicultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to the Chief Economist and Economic Counselor on economic challenges and policy implications for the Bank and LAC.
• Serve as second-in-command of RES, deputizing for and representing the Chief Economist.
• Lead day-to-day management of RES, translating strategic vision into work programs and performance targets.
• Coordinate the production and dissemination of policy-relevant research on LAC development challenges.
