Job summary

Choose Chicago seeks a Director of Finance to serve as the CFO's deputy, leading financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting across the organization. This hands-on, high-visibility role partners with the CFO to modernize finance operations, ensure compliance, and optimize cash flow with a focus on AI-enabled tools.

The position is hybrid, in-office three days a week, and requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to present to the board and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive management experience in finance and accounting.
• CPA or CMA a plus.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct; experience with Bill.com preferred.
• Proficient with workplace AI technologies and automation tools.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present to executives and boards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CFO's key partner and backup in internal/external presentations.
• Monitor and enforce financial policies, internal controls, and reporting.
• Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and actionable recommendations.
• Oversee cost accounting, accounts receivable/payable, and budgeting.
• Coordinate monthly closing, reconciliations, and board reporting.
• Lead finance staff development and cross-functional collaboration.
• Identify and implement AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency.
• Stay current on finance technology and compliance.
