Job summary

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced attorney to help lead the Technical Investigation Bureau (TIB), overseeing digital forensics, video, and body-worn camera resources. The Deputy Bureau Chief will manage daily operations, casework, training, and staff, while shaping policy and strategic direction for electronic evidence issues.

Requirements include a JD, NY bar admission, 10+ years of experience (5+ in digital evidence) and strong leadership, writing, and communication

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate required and admission to the New York State Bar.
US citizenship and New York State residency required on or before first day of employment.
10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years handling digital evidence; prior managerial experience.
Experience with accreditation protocols or ISO/IA standards is a plus.
Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Assist the Bureau Chief in managing day-to-day operation of the Technical Investigation Bureau, including casework, training, and personnel duties.
Assist with project management and policy development for TIB units (DFL, Video, BWC); participate in managerial meetings and audits.
Draft memoranda of law and research to inform policy development for TIB work.
Assist ADAs with search warrants for electronic evidence and prepare warrant templates.
Appear in court for warrant applications and hearings; educate judges on electronic evidence issues.
Provide witness prep and guidance to ADAs on cases with digital evidence components.
Lead investigations and manage detectives, coordinating with the IT Bureau on officewide tech projects.
